Led by Yong Oh, this class is designed to give the curious, or even slightly skeptical a basic understanding of what this word 'mindfulness' means and how being mindful benefits us; although designed for someone who has no experience with mindfulness, it is a great refresher class if you have been away from the practice for awhile and want to renew your resolve.

The class will also allow the participant an opportunity to try a few different types of mindfulness enhancing activities. Led by Yong Oh, an experienced mindfulness and meditation teacher, the class will be a mix of discussion and experiential activities in a relaxed and no-pressure environment.

Yong holds a B.S. degree in Biology from Virginia Tech University, and an A.A.S. degree in Graphic Design from the Parsons School of Design. He leads mindfulness meditation classes and workshops in Chattanooga and the surrounding area. He has also completed the Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction in Mind-Body Medicine, professional training program under the direction of Dr. Jon Kabat-Zinn and Dr. Saki Santorelli and has previously taught MBSR courses. He is currently serving as a Board member for Southern Dharma Retreat Center in North Carolina. Yong is also a participant of the 2-year Community Dharma Leaders Program offered through Spirit Rock Meditation Center. He helps peer-lead the Chattanooga Insight Meditation Group and started the Chattanooga Outdoor Meditation Group. Yong is dedicated to exploring that vital energetic connection between body and mind through both acupuncture and meditation, as well as inviting the power of intention and awareness into the healing process.
