Join us for an afternoon of community and learning about the complicated human process known as PAIN! We are honored to welcome to Chattanooga two nationally known experts in pain, Dr. Howard Schubiner and Alan Gordon! 

We will be locally premiering the movie All the Rage, a documentary about the complicated process of PAIN. Reported levels of chronic pain are reaching epidemic levels in the US and this movie follows one person's journey through chronic pain. After the movie, we will have a Q and A with Dr. Schubiner and Mr. Gordon. 

Tickets are only $5 for members and $10 for non-members!

Snacks and beverages will also be available for purchase.  

Dr. Howard Schubiner is board-certified in pediatrics, adolescent medicine, and internal medicine. He was a full Professor at Wayne State University for 18 years and now works at Providence Hospital in Southfield, MI. He is a fellow in the American College of Physicians, the American Academy of Pediatrics, and the Society for Adolescent Medicine. Dr. Schubiner is known as a national expert in ADHD in adolescents and adults as well as mindfulness meditation and stress reduction. He has authored over 60 publications in scientific journals and books and performed research in the fields of adolescent health, ADHD and stress reduction. Dr. Schubiner has consulted for the American Medical Association, the National Institute on Drug Abuse and the National Institute on Mental Health. He is currently the founding director of the Mind-Body Institute at Providence Hospital. 


Alan Gordon is a psychotherapist in Los Angeles, CA, specializing in the treatment of chronic pain. Alan is an Assistant Adjunct Professor at the University of Southern California, has authored publications on the treatment of chronic pain, and has presented on the topic of pain treatment at conferences and trainings throughout the country. He served as the chair for the 2013 Mind-Body Conference at USC, and co-created the Treatment Outline and Training Protocol for the Psychophysiologic Disorders Association.
