Led by Paul Peterson, this class is designed to give the curious, or even slightly skeptical a basic understanding of what this word 'mindfulness' means and how being mindful benefits us; although designed for someone who has no experience with mindfulness, it is a great refresher class if you have been away from the practice for awhile and want to renew your resolve.

The class will also allow the participant an opportunity to try a few different types of mindfulness enhancing activities. Led by Yong Oh, an experienced mindfulness and meditation teacher, the class will be a mix of discussion and experiential activities in a relaxed and no-pressure environment.

Paul is a community organizer and meditation teacher. He loves extended meditation retreats in the woods, but is especially interested in combining meditation with community engagement. He currently teaches mindfulness in Hamilton County elementary schools and is a collective member of Coming to America, a storytelling collective for Chattanooga's immigrant and refugee populations.
