"Peace isn’t an experience free of challenges, free of rough and smooth, it’s an experience that’s expansive enough to include all that arises without feeling threatened." - Pema Chodron

Tibetan Buddhist meditation provides the tools and techniques that help us with challenging times. Whether you are new to meditation or experienced, these two days of meditations and teachings will assist you in developing a sense of inner and outer peace. Newcomers are welcome!

Tara Mandala Chattanooga and Center for Mindful Living are pleased to welcome back to Chattanooga Ellen Yeshe Chöepel (Ellen Booth Church), Tara Mandala teacher and leader of the Key West Tara Mandala group. Join us!

Saturday March 10th 2:00- 5:00pm: Choosing Mindfulness and Peace in a Challenging Time
How do we find peace when life is challenging? This afternoon will be devoted to developing practical mindfulness approaches you can bring into your everyday life. There will be guided meditation and sitting meditation instruction. This session is excellent for those who are new to meditation as well as those who would like to deepen their practice.

Sunday, March 11th 10:00am- 5:00 pm: The Mandala of the Empowered Feminine
This day will take a deep look at the powerful and transformational work of the mandala principle in Vajrayana Buddhism. Through experiences with Meditation, Movement and Art we will explore the work of Lama Tsultrim Allione in her new book “Wisdom Rising: Journey into the Mandala of the Empowered Feminine” (Simon & Schuster, Inc.). {This full day will include transmission of the Mandala of the Enlightened Feminine, the practice text, all supplies and materials, as well as a catered lunch.}

Retreat fee: $70/$65** for the weekend, $20/$15** for Saturday only, and Dana for Ellen Yeshe. (**$5 discount for Center members). “Dana” offering for the teacher: Dana is a Pali word, which means generosity. Teachers of Tibetan Buddhism donate their time in service of the Dharma and only receive what participants offer as Dana.

About the Teacher: Ellen Yeshe Chöepel (Ellen Booth Church) is a 30-year student of Lama Tsultrim Allione and practitioner of Tibetan Buddhism. She is an authorized Tara Mandala teacher, and the leader of the Key West Tara Mandala Sangha. Ellen has also been a guiding teacher and support of the Tara Mandala Chattanooga Sangha for 9 years.
